God Damn It

I was wandering around Seoul today and walked past a music store with a giant poster for a tour by the Blue Man Group in Seoul. I was quite excited about this until I saw the dates: June 14 - June 20. Then I was pissed off. I keep missing out on these sort of things.

I did see in a newspaper today that the Daegu International Music Festival starts soon. I might try and go to some part of it.

Unexpected Sources

Last Saturday I was at a different school than normal and met someone new in voice. It was a housewife who was a little different. Since it was the first time I'd met her I asked the usual get to know someone questions, job, hobbies, likes, etc. The surprising bit was that she liked heavy metal music, and surprisingly, when I mentioned what would be the closest thing to my favorite heavy metal band, Apocalyptica (since they play cellos, it doesn't really count as pure heavy metal), she actually knew who the hell I was talking about. Then came the devastating blow. Apparently, Apocalyptica had performed a concert in Tokyo in May, and she had gone.

God Damn.

If I had known, I'd have definitely made the trip to Tokyo for that. To put it alliteratively, Apocalyptica are awesome.

Ah well, yet another disappointment in life.

The Prayer

Sometimes a song will get stuck in my head. Not the annoying stuck in your head, but more that this fits perfectly with the way you are feeling. Or changes the way your feeling for the better. In any case, once the song finds it's niche, I listen to it over and over again.

For a day or so, that song has been The Prayer by Bloc Party. It has found a groove in my mind and slotted in neatly.

Another song that has done this (a few months ago, not so much recently) has been Faraway Vol 2 by Apocalyptica.
